I am a second generation “muck shifter” with a 4 year geographical, geological and environmental degree. I worked for 5 years for Deme environmental contracts (Dec UK), specialising in bulk earthworks, material management, soil washing, bioremediation, thermal desorption and stabilisation. Whilst there I was involved with both the 2012 Olympic park project and Avenue coking works followed by returning to the family business Materials Movement Limited.
Management of materials in construction.
A contractors view of how materials have been managed, are managed and need to be managed in an ever evolving and increasingly regulated construction industry. A brief overview of how times have changed for a 25 year old specialist enabling contractor in the housing sector developing a projection of material management methodology in our industries future.
