Andrew Paten
As Co-Founder of UKNAR CIC (UK National Asbestos Register) Community Interest Company) and former CEO of Metro Safety Group, helping protect people and property has been my career for over 30 years. With asbestos still killing 5,000 people per year and in over 1.5 million homes and UK workplaces, my passion is to see how how we can help people manage asbestos more safely, using today's cheap technology to share vital information more simple and effectively. Thousands of asbestos exposures and future victims could easily be prevented just by ensuring contractors see a simple, easy to understand up-to-date asbestos register when and where they need it - on site 24/7 just using their mobile phone to scan a QR code ie. taking an Asbestos SMART™ QR approach. If we work together with enough safety minded professionals, asbestos industry collaborations like OpenAsbestos™ plus key organisations like Mesothelioma UK, UKATA, IATP, BOHS, FAAM, European Asbestos Forum, IOSH we can ensure no one no longer need die from the ignorance that has blighted asbestos for the last 50 years. Established as a not-for-profit social enterprise in 2020 UKNAR has received amazing support from a wide range of property professionals and other stakeholders. We hope you will join and support us if you can: "Sharing information that saves lives."
5% of our Asbestos SMART™ revenues go to UKNAR's charity partner Mesothelioma UK.
