Using today’s SMART IT and QR technology to improve asbestos management, save time, money and lives while driving cultural change

As Co-Founder and Chair of the Metro Safety Group and more recently of UKNAR CIC (UK National Asbestos Register, Community Interest Company) helping others to protect people and property has been my career for the last 30 years. My recent passion is to see how we can manage asbestos much more safely given that it still exists in over 1.5 million workplaces and homes in the UK and probably kills over 100 people per week in the UK. We believe that by using simple modern, cheap technology like Asbestos Smart and working together with other safety minded professionals and key organisations such as Mesothelioma UK and the European Asbestos Forum we can prevent future victims by providing them with the vital information that they need when and where they need it - on site 24/7 in less than 30 seconds just using their mobile phone: "Information that really can save lives." Together, we truly believe can make a difference so that people no longer need to die from the ignorance that has blighted the use and presence of asbestos for the last 50 years. UKNAR CIC received regulatory approval as a new social enterprise in January 2020. 5% of all Asbestos SMART licence fees go to support Mesothelioma UK in support of the 2,600 people who currently die of this preventable disease in the UK every year.

No more dumping steel into landfills! The Recycling of Contaminated Steel Scrap into a Raw, Clean Material: Purified Metal Blocks

No more dumping steel into landfills! PMC has a unique process to recycle hazardous steel into a clean raw material; Purified Metal Blocks.

Worldwide, millions of tons of contaminated steel scrap are released every year, from buildings, trains, ships and industrial installations, to cite a few. For example, the steel is contaminated with asbestos and/or Chromium 6. Cleaning contaminated steel scrap for reuse is difficult and costly. If the steel cannot be cleaned, it will be dumped in landfills and a valuable raw material will be lost. This can be done differently from now on!

PMC recycles steel in a sustainable and cost-efficient way.

Purified Metal Company is the first company in the world to responsibly process contaminated steel scrap into a high-quality raw material. The process is patented and developed to separate the contaminants from the steel in a 100 percent safe way. This solution is not only sustainable, but also cost-efficient. There is no need for a costly cleaning process anymore.

The hazardous steel scrap is processed into steel blocks, the so-called Purified Metal Blocks™ (PMBs), which serve as a high-quality raw material for the steel and foundry industry.
